Chief of Staff

As a key member of the executive team, the Chief of Staff (COS) plans and directs all administrative, financial, and operational activities for the executive team. This role organizes and prioritizes critical issues and gathers the necessary information to support efficient decision-making. The COS serves as a point of contact and gatekeeper between the executive team and other stakeholders, while also providing oversight and guidance on high-priority projects. Additionally, the COS partners with leadership across the organization delivering operational support that aligns with the company’s mission, vision, and values.

What you will do:

Strategic Planning:

  • Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to develop and execute the company's strategic plan and vision, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and priorities

Financial Management:

  • Partner with finance to oversee financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes to ensure the company's financial health and stability
  • Monitor key financial metrics and performance indicators to identify opportunities for improvement and mitigate risks
  • Manage Cap Table to include stock plan documents, employee awards, investor shares and documentation

Cross-FunctionalCollaboration:

  • Facilitate communications and collaboration across departments, ensuring alignment and coordination of efforts to achieve company objectives

Stakeholder Engagement:  

  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including investors, partners, board members and advisory board, representing the CEO and the company with professionalism and integrity

Coordination/Event Planning:

  • Research and plan all in person company hosted events such as in person meetings, board of director meetings, etc.

Risk Management:

  • Identify and mitigate risks that may impact the company’s success, developing strategies and contingency plans to address potential challenges, in collaboration with other executive team members

Culture and Values:  

  • Promote and uphold the organization’s mission, vision, and values, serving as a role model for integrity, professionalism, and teamwork

IT Liaison:  

  • Manage all controls pertaining to SOC I and II.  Partner with IT provider to set up all network configurations.  
  • Serve as the systems administrator.

What you need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in a leadership or strategic role, preferably within a fast-paced startup or early-stage company
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans and initiatives
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism, with the ability to handle confidential information and sensitive situations with tact and diplomacy
  • Expert level working with the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Willingness and ability to travel (10%-20%)
